FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:

Alpha Controls is currently looking for a Field Service Technician to calibrate a variety of instrumentation on-site at our customer’s facilities, as well as in our Markham calibration lab. Using your technical knowledge and proper handling techniques, you’ll work on a broad range of precision instruments such as temperature/humidity probes and measuring devices, data loggers, multimeters, gauges, calibrators, and more. If you enjoy variety, solving technical challenges, and working directly with customers, you'll feel right at home here.

What you will be doing:

- Perform calibrations (temperature, pressure, electrical, etc.), troubleshoot issues and service a variety of instrumentation in the process & HVAC industries
- Perform equipment start-up and commissioning
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience with professional communication, technical expertise, and responsive support
- Follow all safety procedures and practices at all times
- Travel primarily throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (approximately 80%), with occasional travel across Canada (approximately 20%)

Education and Experience:

- Instrumentation Technology Diploma or equivalent experience is a must!
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration/service

- Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to solve technical problems efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with solid computer skills




- Demonstrate initiative, with the ability to work independently, and be self-motivated
- Exceptional customer service – outgoing, friendly, team player, positive attitude
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with customers and co-workers
- Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
