You will work closely with Finance Managers, Senior Accountants, Procurement, and Payroll teams to process accounts payable and receivable, perform routine bank reconciliations, audit expense claims, and draft foundational financial schedules.

Responsibilities include verifying vendor invoices, issuing client billing statements, logging journal entries into the general ledger, investigating account discrepancies, and helping compile data for internal management reporting and external audits. Success in this position requires a strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles, high numerical accuracy, proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, and a strict commitment to maintaining internal financial controls and confidentiality.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; foundational progress toward professional accounting certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or AAT) is considered an advantage.
- Accounting Fundamentals: Practical understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger administration, accruals/prepayments, accounts payable/receivable management, and basic tax principles (e.g., VAT/GST/Sales Tax).
- Financial Software & ERP Systems:

Hands-on experience working with modern cloud accounting software or ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Reconciliations & Data Accuracy: Proven capability to execute routine bank reconciliations, vendor statement reconciliations, balance sheet account checkups, and ledger audits with meticulous attention to detail.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Operations: Practical experience processing vendor invoices, verifying payment matching (3-way match), managing payment runs, preparing client billing invoices, and supporting credit control/aged debt collection.
- Advanced Spreadsheet Proficiency: Intermediate-to-advanced command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, logical formulas, and data formatting) for financial reporting and auditing.
- Audit & Compliance Support: Familiarity with preparing schedule documentation for statutory annual audits, maintaining organized digital audit trails, and adhering to internal accounting policies and controls.
- Problem Solving & Numerical Aptitude: Solid quantitative, analytical, and diagnostic skills with a proven capability to spot numerical discrepancies, investigate root causes, and reconcile variances efficiently.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to interacting with external vendors, clients, internal managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Skilled Attributes: High level of personal integrity, discretion, time management capability to meet strict end-of-month reporting deadlines, and a dedicated commitment to continuous professional growth in accounting.
