Job Overview
Voyzant Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant – Accounts Receivable with travel industry experience to support our Finance team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting processes within the travel sector, including airline ticketing transactions, travel agency accounts, customer collections, refunds, voids, and industry-specific reconciliation requirements.As an air travel consolidator, our accounts receivable cycle is typically one week, with a high volume of daily transactions across multiple customer accounts. The successful candidate must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex financial transactions within a fast-paced global travel setting.The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the full accounts receivable cycle, including A/R aging analysis, proactive customer follow-up, invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliations, and supporting accounts payable activities.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct detailed reviews of the AR aging report and initiate targeted, high-volume collection calls and emails based on predefined risk criteria.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Follow up with customers for invoice collections.
- Analyze overdue accounts and produce reports as required.
- Perform regular account reconciliations and ensure customer accounts are paid on time.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Process accounts payable and allocate expenses to specific projects.
- Work closely with the Sales Team on overdue accounts and agency disputes; partner with the Operations/Ticketing Team on refund and void verification.
- Liaise with other departments for issue resolution and approvals.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce outstanding balances.
- Maintain proficiency in billing and collections systems, credit card and pre-approved payment handling, and dispute resolution processes.
- Prepare and structure financial data for reporting, dashboards, and forecasting models.
- Prepare and issue invoices daily to ensure timely client statement distribution.
- Process client payments, including ACH transfers, wire transfers, and e-transfers.
- Perform other accounting-related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field,
or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, or a related accounting role.
- Previous experience working in the travel industry, airline industry, travel agency environment, ticketing, or travel services sector is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting/billing software and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) for reporting and reconciliation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Ticketing, and other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and customer account issues.
