Financial Support Worker - Temporary, Full-Time (until March 31st 2029),

Band 3 - 30 hours/week

Overview The Financial Support Worker is responsible for ensuring the provision of financial support to clients in the Trustee program who are trying to improve their financial situations and find greater stability. The Financial Support Worker will support and coach clients in a supportive environment to improve their financial well-being and life opportunities. These positions are open as a result of a successful grant application for the expansion of the Senior Trustee Program.

Due to the length of this temporary role, it will include health benefits, paid vacation, matching RRPS, etc.

Job Duties

- To provide direct service to clients in the trustee program from assessment to termination of services
- To conduct assessments, support visits, and other client meetings in clients' homes and community settings as required.
- To maintain a person-directed approach to financial goals and practices
- To develop practices and interventions that will help clients deal with financial realities
- To establish partnerships with other community agencies to meet the goals of the client and the program
- To assist clients in creating personal budgets and help clients work through the psychosocial side of financial management
- To establish a supportive and empathetic environment for the client
- To provide financial coaching by utilizing a strengths-based, solutions-focused,



and supportive approach
- To provide individual and systemic advocacy as needed.
- To submit reports, projections, and statistics as required
- To ensure that all files are complete and accurate, including case/support notes
- To contribute to the development of annual program goals and objectives.
- To facilitate financial support groups as the demand presents
- To perform other related duties as required

Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field (e.g., social work, social services, credit counselling, finance, human services)
- 1-2 years relevant experience

- Demonstrated ability to respectfully assist clients, family members, and the community with care and concern, consistent with the Core Values, Vision, and Mission.
- Vulnerable Police Sector Screen
- Valid G driver's licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and appropriate automobile insurance

- Ability to travel throughout Chatham-Kent to meet with clients and community partners as required
