Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems, emergency lighting , and life safety systems across various commercial and industrial facilities. Your expertise will ensure that life safety systems operate flawlessly, providing peace of mind for clients and compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform Inspection and Testing: Conduct routine inspections, testing, and verification of fire alarm systems, including smoke detectors, manual pull stations, control panels, and associated life safety devices to ensure proper operation and code compliance.
- Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose system faults, wiring issues, device failures, and communication errors; perform necessary repairs and adjustments to restore system functionality.
- Install and Program Systems: Install, configure, and program fire alarm components, life safety loops, device zones, and control panel settings in new and existing facilities while following approved designs and applicable standards.
- Prepare Documentation: Complete detailed inspection, testing, and service reports for building owners, and fire officials, ensuring accurate records of system performance and deficiencies.
Qualifications
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an electronics, electrical, fire protection, or related technical program is considered an asset.
- Certification: Active registration with the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) as a Registered Fire Alarm Technician.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of basic electrical principles, ability to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, with the capability to perform hands-on troubleshooting and service tasks.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely perform field work, including climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting equipment, and completing tasks in various commercial and industrial environments.
- Additional Requirements: Valid G driver’s licence with a clean driving record
