Flooring Installers/Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state, Flooring Carpenters focus on repairing existing flooring and installing new. If you’re passionate about helping people and skilled at making things right, this is your chance to make a real difference.

Compensation

- Salary Range: $26-$28/hour
- Overtime opportunities (where applicable)

What You’ll Do

- Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim
- Preparing flooring surfaces
- Installing laminate, vinyl, hardwood flooring as well as carpet
- Complete all flooring repairs

What You Bring

- 10+ years experience installing flooring
- Experience in interior carpentry repairs is a strong asset
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Solid people and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- A safety mindset
- Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

Of Note: Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

- Please describe your flooring installation and repair experience. Include the types of flooring you are skilled in installing and repairing (such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, tile, etc.) and explain why you would be a strong fit for this position.
- Do you have the experience and leadership skills to guide a junior helper in completing flooring installations and repairs while working effectively as a team, or do you prefer to work alone?
- Do you have previous experience dealing with insurance, flood or fire damage? If yes, please describe.
- Please tell us about any finishing carpentry skills you have, including experience with trim, baseboards, doors, and other finishing work.
- Restoration work requires documentation and tracking throughout your workday. Do you have basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience? Are you comfortable operating a phone to navigate through applications and record info as instructed?
- Do you have your own hand and power tools as needed to complete various in home repairs? Please note that On Side provides materials and supplies.
- Are you able to work a rotating on call schedule, responding to emergency calls after regular hours? This on call work is in addition to your scheduled daytime hours, and premium pay as well as overtime will be provided.

Experience:
- Flooring installation: 10 years (preferred)
