Food Counter Attendant / Kitchen Helper

Location: Downtown Winnipeg – Hargrave Street Market

Saburo Kitchen is looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Food Counter Attendant / Kitchen Helper to join our team at Hargrave Street Market in downtown Winnipeg.

This is a fast-paced position that combines customer service, food preparation, and general kitchen support. The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, comfortable multitasking, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers and provide friendly, excellent customer service
- Take customer orders and process payments using a POS system
- Prepare and serve food according to company standards
- Assist with basic food preparation and kitchen duties
- Help assemble, package, and plate customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter, kitchen, and food preparation areas
- Handle cash and credit/debit transactions accurately
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily specials
- Stock and restock food, supplies, and inventory as needed
- Assist the kitchen and front counter team during busy periods
- Follow food safety, cleanliness, and workplace procedures
- Perform other general duties as required to support the team





Qualifications & Skills

Required

- Available to work lunch, evenings, and weekends
- Comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Positive attitude and friendly personality
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred
- Previous restaurant or food service experience
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience

- Experience handling cash
- Experience using POS and credit/debit payment systems

What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, and willing to learn. You don't need to have extensive restaurant experience if you have a great attitude, robust work ethic, and are comfortable working in a busy environment.
