Position Overview

Le Petit Écolier French Language Centre is hiring enthusiastic and experienced French teachers for our Rentrée en confiance – French Immersion Bootcamp, taking place from August 24 to 28, 2026, at King’s Christian Collegiate in Oakville.

This intensive, one-week academic program is designed to help students entering or returning to French Immersion in Grades 1–5 strengthen their French skills and begin the school year feeling confident and prepared.

Teachers will lead engaging, structured lessons focused on oral communication, listening comprehension, vocabulary, reading, writing and essential classroom language. The program will combine focused academic instruction with interactive and age-appropriate learning activities.

Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging French Immersion lessons to elementary-aged students
- Follow the curriculum, daily schedule and teaching materials provided by Le Petit Écolier
- Support students with different French proficiency levels
- Lead oral communication, vocabulary, reading and writing activities
- Create a positive, encouraging and well-managed classroom environment
- Adapt instruction according to students’ ages and learning needs
- Supervise students during assigned transitions, breaks and activities
- Collaborate professionally with the Bootcamp Coordinator and other teachers
- Follow all program, safety and child-protection procedures
- Provide brief feedback regarding student participation and progress





Qualifications
- Strong spoken and written French proficiency
- Experience teaching French, French Immersion or Core French
- Experience working with elementary-aged children
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, energetic and skilled
- Ability to make French learning engaging and accessible
- Availability for the full contract period of August 24–28, 2026

The following would be considered assets:
- Ontario Certified Teacher status or current enrolment in a teacher-education program
- Experience with the Ontario French Immersion curriculum
- Bachelor of Education or other relevant education
- First Aid and CPR certification

Employment Requirements

Successful candidates must provide

- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Two professional references
- Proof of relevant qualifications, where applicable
- Authorization to work in Canada

Schedule and Compensation This is a one-week contract from August 24 to 28, 2026. Teachers can expect approximately 25–30 paid hours, depending on assigned responsibilities and the final program schedule.

Compensation is $25.00 per hour.
