General Accountant – Full time A Toronto-based accounting services firm is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, tax compliance, payroll processing, and client account support. This is a full-time position located near Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road. The duties and qualifications below are based on the position overview provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform full-cycle accounting duties accurately and efficiently
- Assist with company incorporation, business registration, and opening government or business accounts
- Record accounting entries and maintain accurate financial records
- Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and process payroll and T4 slips
- Prepare and file HST, WSIB, and Employer Health Tax returns
- Prepare financial statements and assist with personal and corporate tax returns
- Work closely with senior staff to support daily accounting operations
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members
- Manage multiple files and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Travel to banks and other locations as required for deposits, document delivery, account-related matters, and other business purposes

Qualifications

- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Profile, and Microsoft Office




- Previous experience working in an accounting firm is preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new processes and software
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable personal vehicle

* Driving Requirement The employee will be required to use their own vehicle to travel to banks and other business-related locations during working hours. Applicants must have a valid driver’s licence, valid automobile insurance, and reliable access to their own vehicle.
