Position Summary Reporting to the Site Foreman, DJN's General Labourers are the backbone of every jobsite, supporting our operators and crews on excavation, grading, site-servicing, and demolition projects. This is hands-on, outdoor work for dependable people who show up ready, work safely, and take pride in a job done right. It's also a strong entry point into the trades and equipment operation for the right person.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

- Perform general labour on excavation, grading, site-servicing, and demolition projects.
- Support equipment operators as ground crew and spotter; assist with grade checks and layout.
- Load, move, and handle materials, tools, and equipment, and keep the site clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Assist with trenching, backfilling, compaction, pipe and utility work, and site clean-up.
- Use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
- Set up and maintain traffic control, barricades,



and signage as directed.
- Complete daily safety checks and follow all company, site, and regulatory safety procedures.
- Communicate clearly with operators, spotters, and the Site Foreman.

Required
- Reliable, punctual, and physically able to perform demanding work outdoors in varying weather.
- Able to lift and carry heavy materials and to stand, bend, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
- Strong safety awareness and a willingness to take direction.
- Ability to work well as part of a crew.

Considered an asset
- Previous construction, excavation, or sitework experience.
- Safety tickets (WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Ground Disturbance, traffic control/flagging).
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation to site.
- Interest in training toward equipment operation.
