We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated General Maintenance & Property Assistant to help maintain and improve our commercial buildings and properties. This hands-on position involves a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and property support tasks, including painting, moving equipment, completing general repairs, and assisting with building improvements. The successful candidate will enjoy practical work, take pride in maintaining clean and secure facilities, and be willing to learn new skills.
As this role supports multiple properties, regular travel between job sites in Calgary and Airdrie is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Maintenance
- Perform routine building maintenance and inspections.
- Complete minor repairs to walls, doors, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures.
- Repair or replace damaged hardware and equipment.
- Assist with preventative maintenance to keep buildings in good condition.
Painting & Finishing
- Prepare surfaces for painting.
- Paint interior and exterior walls, trim, doors, and other building components.
- Perform touch-up painting and finishing work as needed.
Moving & Setup
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials between locations.
- Assemble and install furniture, shelving, and office equipment.
- Assist with clinic renovations, room setups, and reorganizations.
General Repairs
- Perform basic carpentry, drywall, caulking, patching, and minor plumbing repairs.
- Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, locks, and other building fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and report maintenance issues requiring specialized contractors.
Grounds & Property Care
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Remove garbage and construction debris.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal, ice control, landscaping, and exterior cleanup.
Equipment & Tools
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
General Support
- Pick up and deliver supplies and materials.
- Assist contractors when required.
- Perform other maintenance and property-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in general maintenance, construction, handyman work, or a related trade is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs.
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence required.
- Reliable personal vehicle required, as this position involves regular travel between multiple job sites in Calgary and Airdrie.
- Mileage reimbursement will be provided for authorized work-related travel in accordance with company policy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Employment Type
