We design and manufacture suspension components for wheeled and tracked military vehicles and off-highway machines used in construction, forestry, mining and agriculture. These components include passive and semi-active dampers and hydro pneumatic struts. Horstman Canada is a CGRP-registered corporation and is a RENK group company.

POSITION SUMMARY A general machinist is responsible for a number of activities :

· Safety : Always work with the safety of yourself and your colleagues as the number 1 priority.

· Set up and operation of MANUAL controlled machining equipment, including but not limited to o Centreless Grinding Machines o Induction Hardening o Manual Milling machines, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders and other toolroom type equipment.

o Manual assembly and test machine equipment

· Also, Setup and operation of fundamental / basic CNC controlled machinery

· Interpret engineering tool drawings and functional requirements.





· Assist with troubleshooting and repairing of existing tools and dies.

· Measure machined parts using metric and imperial devices

· Disassemble and assemble components to design specifications.

· Perform other duties as required.

FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

· Canadian resident with Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of some of the projects)

· Effective communicator in English, both oral and written

· Possess a minimum of 5 years of direct practical machining experience

· Completed High School Education

· Additional educational credential relating to machining would be considered an asset.

· A successful background check will be required.

Pay Range

This is a full time completely on-site position with benefits. Overtime is not typically common although the business is undergoing significant growth .

· Industrial Machinist : $25-30/hr
