We are looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team in Utopia, Ontario (10 minutes outside of Barrie). The H&S; Coordinator, under the direction of the EHS Manager, coordinates the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of DECAST Ltd.’s health and safety management program. The responsibilities include assisting with developing policies, programs and procedures, conducting risk assessments, H&S; audits, incident investigations, and assisting in the early and safe return to work planning process.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Support with coordinating H&S; programs and documentation including policies, procedures, and training while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Act as a resource to the Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all workplace incidents and property damage
- Support with maintenance of the organization’s EHS management system
- Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)



is compliant and meets the prospective needs of the working environment
- Under the direction of the EHS Manager, assist with the early and safe return to work program for both work and non-work-related cases
- Track incident follow-up activities to ensure that identified actions resulting from accidents, near misses, or hazard identification are completed in a timely manner

Skills, Education & Experience

- Completion of a post-secondary education program in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Occupational Health & Safety Role or similar
- Ability to obtain/maintain First Aid, CPR & AED certification
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments is preferred
- Knowledge of OHSA and related legislation, regulations, codes, and standards is required
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard is required
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Working at DECAST

- The range of pay for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually
- This is a fully in-office position operating on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00AM to 5:00PM
