Peterbilt Manitoba Ltd. is looking for a Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join the Brookside Service Department. Reporting to the Foreman, the Heavy Duty Truck Technician will provide timely and quality repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy-duty truck components.
The Role:
- Repair and maintain heavy duty truck components
- Operate various manufacturer computer programs to run diagnostic tests
- Diagnose trouble codes, disassemble engines and other truck components, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
- Recondition and replace truck parts and components using hand tools, pneumatic tools and precision measuring instruments
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspection of truck-tractor components
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
Qualifications:
- Level 3/4 Apprentice in “Truck Transportation and Bus” or Red Seal Journeyman status is required
- Completion of a college/vocational or technical training in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic is considered an asset
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge and comprehensive understanding of technology and repair techniques
- Time management skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment and produce positive results with diligent respect for deadlines
- Problem solver with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to physically participate in job duties
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
