Sierra Excavating Enterprises Inc. is a leading civil construction contractor specializing in excavation, underground site servicing, retaining walls, stormwater management facilities, culverts, and municipal infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team.

Position Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely and efficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment on civil construction projects while assisting crews in completing excavation, grading, underground servicing, and related work in accordance with project specifications and Ontario health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

· Operate various sizes of excavators, dozers, skid steers, packers/compactors, loaders, and other heavy equipment.

· Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site servicing work.

· Work safely around underground utilities and other trades.

· Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance requirements.

· Read and follow grade stakes, site plans, and direction from the Foreman.

· Assist ground crews when required to maintain productivity.





· Follow company safety policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.

· Maintain equipment in a clean and professional condition.

Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction.

· Experience operating different sizes of excavators, dozers, skid steers, packers/compactors, loaders, and similar equipment.

· Experience in excavation, underground site servicing, grading, and municipal infrastructure construction.

· Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

· Fluent in spoken English.

· Valid Ontario driver's licence.

· Must have reliable transportation (own vehicle) to commute to project sites.

· Solid work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
