North West Crane is currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team immediately. This is a role that requires strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills across a variety of heavy-duty equipment for our busy Leduc facility.

What we look for:

- Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic & electrical systems
- Service Truck work - perform field service work safely and efficiently
- Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal)
- Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
- Attend and participate in all weekly safety meetings and safety drills
- Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

- Class 5 driver's license
- Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus
- CVIP Experience
- Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided)
- Crane experience for 14 - 55 Ton Cranes
- Must have valid apprenticeship with Alberta and Industry Training or Journeyman Red Seal/ Interprovincial Certification
- Attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Strong work ethic
- Consistent punctuality and reliability
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally

Responsibilities

- Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
- Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
- Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical schematics
- Operate forklift and overhead cranes
- Using OEM software to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment
- Ensure cleanliness throughout the shop

Safety

- Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by the Health and Safety manual
- Promote a positive safety culture with a target for zero incidents
- Attend daily toolbox meeting
