Job Summary

The Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing the seating flow, coordinating waitlists, and supporting overall guest experience in a bar environment. This role ensures smooth entry operations, maintains an organized front‑of‑house area, and provides clear communication between guests and service staff. The Host upholds company service standards and contributes to a welcoming, efficient, and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Reception and Greeting – Greet guests with good energy and a warm personality, provide accurate wait times, manage seating charts, and ensure smooth guest flow throughout the bar.

2. Customer Service – Set a positive tone at the door with a friendly, approachable demeanor; engage with guests to make them feel valued; resolve concerns professionally; and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

3. Manage Reservations and Waitlists – Oversee guest queues, reservations, and large‑party needs; communicate delays or special requests clearly to management and staff.

Support Team and Operations – Coordinate with servers and bartenders to balance sections, maintain cleanliness of entry areas and host stand, and assist FOH staff during busy periods.

5. Ensure Safety and Compliance – Monitor entry for age restrictions and capacity limits, uphold sanitation standards, and report incidents or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred.
- Experience in a bar, pub, or high‑volume workplace is an asset.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., Smart Serve, TIPS) may be required based on jurisdiction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in fast‑paced environments.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic understanding of seating systems, waitlist tools, or POS systems (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
