We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely and efficiently excavate around utilities, assist in directional drilling support and open excavations for structures. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical systems, and construction site safety protocols.

Operator plays a critical role in ensuring project accuracy and safety while supporting various excavation projects.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks to perform accurate excavation tasks around utilities in residential areas.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with project managers and other heavy equipment operators to execute excavation plans effectively.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working workplace for the team.
- Assist with site setup, cleanup, and logistical support during construction projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment usage.
Skills
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks in a construction or utility setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with horizontal drilling and underground utility excavation is highly desirable.
- Valid class 3 license with air brakes required
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation in construction environments.

Job Details Work is located primarily in Calgary with out of town work as well. LOA and accommodations will be provided for out of town work. Some jobs will be day work out of town and others will require overnight stays. Work will include telecommunications work, electrical repair and installation work and gas repair and installation work.
