We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced Immigration Law Clerk who can take carriage of files and run with them. This is a fully remote, full-time position with standard business hours. Salary range is $55,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and management of temporary residence applications, including: LMIAs, LMIA-exempt work permits (Intra-Company Transfers, CUSMA, CETA, FTA, Reciprocity, Significant Benefit, etc.), business visitor entries, and visitor visas.
- Assist with the preparation and management of permanent residence applications, including: Express Entry, PNPs (including ON and BC), family and spousal sponsorship, and citizenship grants and proofs.
- * not a must but solid plus: assist with US immigration application, including: E1/2, TN, L1, H1B, EB green cards, Family Sponsorships, etc.,
- Utilize the firm's practice management system to initiate new matters, docket time,
and record information
- Manage a high-volume caseload and monitor deadlines
- Monitor Canadian and U.S. immigration developments and update affected clients as needed
- Liaise with clientele in a professional and courteous manner, and develop client relationships
- Assist with the intake process, monitor shared inboxes, and respond to inquiries
- Provide case updates to lawyers and clients
What You Bring
- Minimum two (2) years of immigration law experience
- Exceptional client service attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with clients, co-workers, and lawyers in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Initiative, flexibility, and a proven record of working independently to complete assignments thoroughly, start to finish, without supervision
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and client satisfaction
- Efficient time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Assets
- A Bachelor's Degree / College Diploma / RCIC Licence
- Experience with U.S. immigration
- Fluency in another language in addition to English
