About the Role
Cavalier Tool & Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Scheduler to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating the production of mold components to ensure efficient workflow, optimal machine utilization, and on-time delivery.
The successful candidate will be trained on Infor Visual ERP and will be responsible for uploading Bills of Material (BOMs), creating production schedules, maintaining work orders, and coordinating engineering changes throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Upload, review, and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in Infor Visual ERP.
- Analyze BOMs received from the Design department to determine required manufacturing operations. (Materials, Services and Labor)
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on machine capacity, process requirements, priorities, and delivery dates.
- Coordinate production timelines to meet customer commitments and internal deadlines.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to minimize bottlenecks and delays.
- Review and release work orders, ensuring routing, operations, materials, and production data are accurate.
- Review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), updating work orders and notifying affected departments of required changes.
- Ensure manufacturing operations are opened and closed correctly so employees can accurately report labor and maintain production data integrity.
- Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Project Management to resolve scheduling conflicts and production issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Understanding of plastic injection mold manufacturing and tooling processes.
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Experience with ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of machine capabilities, manufacturing processes, and production scheduling is preferred.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Willingness to learn new software, manufacturing processes, and scheduling best practices.
