We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Junior Accountant I to join our Finance team.

Position Summary:

The Junior Accountant reports to the Finance/Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the department, support the full accounts payable process and data input.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process transactions in the company’s accounting system in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures (prepaid expenditures, inventory, fixed assets, Accounts Payable and deferred revenue, etc.).
- Interact with operational personnel to answer questions and accumulate information.
- Print and organize all Ontario Division (ONT DIV) invoices and related documents; forward PO-related invoices to merchants for review and approval.
- Review invoices and T/T request forms for accuracy and completeness, and enter transactions into the company’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;) system.
- Process weekly cheque runs and T/T request forms in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and filing systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies as required.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and other related accounting tasks.
- Provide support to the management team with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required.





Qualifications & Experience:

- Knowledge of basic GAAP principles, accounting practices, and financial concepts.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and their application in supporting business operations.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and other data-mapping functions; proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications is also required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;) is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to meet deadlines while effectively managing competing and changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner and approach when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong attention to accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive company information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

- Preferably enrolled in the CPA program

Working Hours:

- This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Regular working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break

Compensation & Benefits:

- Expected Hourly Wage: $22.83-$30.82
