Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Land Surveyor specializing in land development projects within Alberta. As an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS), you will play a pivotal role in guiding land development initiatives from initial planning through to final survey deliverables. Your expertise will ensure precise data collection, accurate mapping, and seamless integration of survey information into project workflows.

Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed land surveys for development projects, including boundary determination, topographic mapping, and site layout
- Utilize AutoCAD, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and GIS software such as ArcGIS to create accurate survey drawings, maps, and data visualizations
- Collect field data through GPS, total stations, drones, and other surveying instruments to ensure accurate measurements
- Manage survey databases and organize data within GIS platforms and other digital data management systems
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and clients to interpret survey requirements and deliver comprehensive reports
- Maintain meticulous records of survey activities, field notes, and project documentation for future reference and compliance
- Ensure all survey activities adhere to provincial regulations, safety standards, and best practices in land development
Qualifications
- Certification as an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS) or equivalent registration with relevant provincial authorities
- Proven experience in land development surveying with a strong understanding of construction processes and site planning
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD software, ArcGIS, and GIS data management tools
- Demonstrated ability to collect high-quality field data using GPS units, total stations, drones, and other surveying equipment
- Familiarity with databases related to survey data storage and retrieval for efficient project management
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, maps, and legal land descriptions accurately
