About HongSen Landscaping Inc.

HongSen Landscaping Inc. is a Toronto-based landscape design company. We develop functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces for residential and commercial properties.

We are seeking a Landscape Designer to prepare landscape concepts, technical drawings, planting plans and client presentation materials. The successful candidate will work from our Toronto office and attend local project sites when required.

Responsibilities

- Meet with clients and project team members to understand design requirements, priorities and budgets
- Review site information, measurements, photographs and existing conditions
- Assist with site assessments and attend project-site visits when required
- Develop landscape concepts for residential and commercial properties
- Prepare site plans, planting plans, hardscape layouts and presentation drawings
- Produce and revise drawings using AutoCAD or comparable design software
- Create three-dimensional models, renderings or presentation boards when required
- Select plants, landscape materials, finishes and outdoor features appropriate for each project
- Prepare plant lists, material schedules, design notes and project documentation
- Revise designs based on client feedback, site conditions and internal reviews
- Coordinate design information with project managers, contractors and suppliers
- Maintain accurate drawing versions and organized electronic project files
- Check drawings for dimensions, accuracy, consistency and completeness
- Assist with project estimates and quantity calculations when required
- Follow applicable company procedures and project requirements





Required Qualifications

- Diploma, degree or certificate in landscape design, landscape architecture, environmental design, horticulture or a related field
- At least two years of relevant landscape design, drafting or project experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable computer-aided design software
- Ability to read, prepare and revise scaled landscape drawings
- Understanding of planting design, hardscape materials and landscape construction concepts
- Strong visual presentation and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project deadlines
- Ability to work in person at the Toronto office during the stated schedule
- Ability to attend occasional local project-site visits

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion or comparable visualization software
- Knowledge of plants and landscape materials suitable for Ontario conditions
- Experience preparing planting plans, construction details and client presentations
- Familiarity with residential or commercial landscape projects
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence may be considered an asset where site travel is required

Compensation The position pays $29.00–$36.00 per hour.



The successful candidate’s starting rate will be determined within the posted range based on relevant experience, portfolio quality, software proficiency and job-related qualifications.
