Large Format Print Operator

Overview of role and responsibilities include but are not limited to;

What You Will Be Doing

- Operating a large format digital press for roll and rigid production across a wide range of substrates.
- Reviewing dockets and print ready files before the job starts, confirming sizes, bleeds, finishing allowances, and material against what the job actually calls for.
- Loading, aligning, and registering media, including double sided work and multi up layouts.
- Selecting the correct preset or queue for the job and running it as specified.
- Comparing output against the approved proof and flagging colour drift or inconsistency for correction rather than adjusting settings on your own.
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance, including printhead care, purges, nozzle checks, lamp or LED and curing checks, and filter changes.
- First article inspection and in process quality control, catching banding, misregistration, and cure issues before a full run is scrapped.




- Updating job status accurately and in real time so the floor and the customer service team can see where work stands.
- Tracking material consumption and reporting waste, remakes, and root cause.
- Coordinating handoff to cutting, finishing, and shipping so downstream departments are not waiting or guessing.
- Keeping the press area clean, organized, and audit ready, and maintaining WHMIS and SDS compliance for all consumables at the machine.

What You Need to Have

- Large format digital print experience. Two or more years operating a flatbed, hybrid, or roll to roll production press.
- Substrate knowledge. Comfortable across vinyl, banner, coroplast, foamcore, PVC, acrylic, aluminum composite, and specialty media.
- A trained eye. You can hold a print beside an approved proof and tell when something is off, then stop the run instead of pushing it through.
- File literacy. Able to work in Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat and identify a file problem before it becomes a reprint.
- Mechanical aptitude. You perform your own preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting rather than waiting on a service call for everything.
- Detail discipline. You measure, you check, and you do not release a job you would not sign your name to.
- Physical capability. Comfortable lifting sheet goods and rolls and standing for full shifts.





What Would Make You Stand Out

- Experience on a flatbed or hybrid UV press.
- Familiarity with RIP software and print queue management.
- Experience with a job tracking or MIS system on the production floor.
- Digital cutting table experience.
- Experience contributing to SOPs, run standards, or operator training documentation.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Hourly Pay: $20 - $25/hour, based on experience and skill level.
- Primary Hours: Monday - Friday - Daytime
- Traning Hours (2-3 Months):

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience in large format roll-to-roll printing is a requirement.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow production specifications.
- Physical stamina – ability to stand, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Versatile schedule – must be available for overtime and occasional weekend shifts as needed.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
