Laundry Attendant

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton SW - Windermere is currently looking to hire a Laundry Attendant to join our housekeeping team.

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, drying, folding, and organizing hotel linens and guest laundry items while ensuring high cleanliness standards are maintained at all times. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing, linens, towels, and other textile items
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Remove stains using appropriate cleaning procedures and products
- Perform minor sewing repairs when necessary
- Track and organize laundry items properly
- Inspect linens and towels for stains, damage, or wear before returning them to service
- Maintain inventory of laundry detergents, supplies, and sewing kits
- Monitor laundering equipment and report maintenance or repair needs
- Ensure the laundry facility remains clean, organized, and secure at all times




- Respond professionally to guest or team member questions and requests
- Keep sufficient supplies and materials available for daily operations
- Follow all hotel health, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and cleaning detergents
- Knowledge of stain removal and proper fabric care is an asset
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
- Basic arithmetic and organizational skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
