Overview

Postal worker / mail carrier responsible for organizing mail, delivering letters and small parcels along established routes, and handling related delivery duties.

Responsibilities

- Organize mail by address and load into mailbags
- Deliver letters, small parcels and other printed matter along established routes
- Deliver telegrams, special delivery and express mail
- Collect payment for cash-on-delivery (COD) service
- Record delivery of registered mail
- Leave notices indicating that items could not be delivered and the location where they can be picked up
- Return undeliverable mail to the postal station

Qualifications

- Some secondary school education is required
- Two weeks to one month of training provided by Canada Post Corporation
- Physical fitness is required for some occupations in this unit group
- Can work long hours
- Experience in related field

Compensation and Employment Details

- Employment Type: Full time, Permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Salary: $25.67 - $30.00 per hour
