Aquastar Swim Lessons Ltd is engaging certified lifeguards for event and private pool dispatch. We have active client bookings and we are building our contractor network now.

This is independent contractor work through the Aquastar platform. You accept the dispatches you want and decline the ones you do not. No fixed shifts, no minimum commitment.

About Aquastar

Operating since 2017, Aquastar provides private swim instruction and mobile lifeguard services to more than 600 families and organizations each year. We are mobile, so you guard at the client site rather than at one fixed facility. Every dispatch is a different location and a different client.

We dispatch nationally. This posting is for Alberta, and we are engaging lifeguards across Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, Red Deer, Calgary, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie, and Fort McMurray. The posting is listed under Edmonton because Indeed allows one location. It is not Edmonton only. Tell us your city and we will match you to bookings near you. If you are outside Alberta, still apply. We dispatch in British Columbia and other provinces and we are expanding.

What each dispatch involves

- Complete a site and water safety inspection before swimmers enter.
- Monitor swimmers and enforce water safety and emergency protocols.
- Administer first aid and CPR if required, and coordinate emergency response.
- Communicate directly with the client or event organizer on site.
- Log attendance, incidents, and safety checks.

Most dispatches run 2 to 4 hours. You confirm availability per event.

What you need

- National Lifeguard certification, current.




- Standard First Aid with CPR-C, current.
- Reliable transportation to client sites.
- Clear, qualified communication with clients on site.

Which certification you hold determines where you get sent National Lifeguard Pool qualifies you for private pools, parties, camps, and facility coverage. That is the majority of our bookings.

National Lifeguard Waterfront additionally qualifies you for lakes, beaches, and open water events. Waterfront dispatches pay at the upper end of the range.

You do not need waterfront certification to start. Pool certified contractors are dispatched regularly. If your waterfront certification is in progress, tell us your completion date and we will register you for both streams once it is issued.

Bronze Cross holders

Apply and tell us where you are in your certification path. Bronze Cross is a recognized stepping stone. We will tell you what you need to reach dispatch eligibility.

Assets

- Open water or beach guarding experience.
- Boat, board, or watercraft rescue experience.
- Swim instruction certification. Many of our contractors guard and instruct.
- Criminal record check.

Pay and terms $35 to $60 per hour, set by certification level and event type. A typical 3 hour dispatch pays $105 to $180.

Travel is compensated on qualifying distances.

You engage with Aquastar as an independent contractor, not an employee. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business registration. You choose which dispatches you accept. All bookings and payments run through the Aquastar platform.
