Overview

Designed Roofing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to coordinate transportation schedules, manage incoming and outgoing goods, help maintain project timelines, and support production by ensuring materials arrive on time and are shipped efficiently.

:

- Plan and organize operational logistics of the organization, actively building delivery runs to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness

- Comply with transportation-related policies, safety rules, and government regulations for hours of service, weight restrictions, and company safety and security policies

- Plan and coordinate daily outbound deliveries using company and third-party transportation, creating efficient routes and shipping schedules for delivery drivers each morning

- Communicate regularly with other production coordinators, warehouse, production, and construction supervisors and purchasing and inventory clerks to coordinate activities between warehouses, production floors, construction sites, or other supply chain work units or departments

- Prepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work, materials used, rates of production and other product information, using manual and computerized systems

- Coordinate and monitor logistics of the movement of parts, supplies, and materials within the establishment and ensure that supplies, materials, and products are shipped and received on schedule

- Develop detailed loading plans to maximize trailer utilization while ensuring safe weight distribution and load securement

- Coordinate deliveries of commercial construction materials, products, and supplies for flat roofing, exterior cladding, aluminum door/window and glazing products





- Communicate daily with drivers regarding routes, delivery instructions, customer requirements, and schedule changes

- Monitor truck progress throughout the day and proactively resolve delays, traffic issues, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes

- Coordinate with external carriers and negotiate transportation when required; Analyze freight costs and recommend improvements to routing and delivery efficiency

- Adjust delivery schedule according to construction phase, notifying relevant suppliers, contractors, and drivers; activate contingency plans to minimize disruption to site operations

- Work proactively to reduce the likelihood of delays, building buffer times into critical delivery windows, maintaining relationships with backup suppliers for key materials, and monitoring supplier performance throughout the project

- Find, sort, or move goods between different sections, units and departments and receive, unpack, and track products; Compare items packed with orders and other identifying data for quality control

- Act as backup driver if needed

- Communicate specific freight requirements and procedures to drivers

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
