About the Role
This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, project management, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the maintenance team while ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
- Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, automation, PLC, and VFD-related issues.
- Lead equipment installations, modifications, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage maintenance planning, inventory, contractors, budgets, and departmental KPIs.
- Partner with production and engineering teams to improve reliability, throughput, and overall plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian safety regulations and company standards while supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of maintenance management experience and industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong background in maintenance background process automation, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).
- Experience leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment; foam or fiber processing experience is a robust asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting, leadership, planning, and continuous improvement skills.
- Knowledge of Canadian electrical and safety standards.
