Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of our manufacturing and facilities infrastructure. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to ensure continuous operations.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated equipment control and troubleshooting.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose faults accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during repair tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct welding, electrical work, or mechanical repairs as needed to restore equipment functionality.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting manufacturing processes.
- Lead facilities maintenance projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a maintenance or facilities environment.
- Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing settings.
- Electrical experience including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and working with schematics.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Experience using CMMS software for work order management and record keeping.
- Skilled in welding techniques and electrical/mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices and safety standards.
- Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork collaboration.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members effectively.
