Hotel Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. This position is responsible for helping maintain our guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems in safe and good working condition.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting and repairs, and is comfortable working independently in a busy hotel environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform general repairs and maintenance throughout guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
- Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance in guest rooms and building areas and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Inspect the property regularly and identify maintenance or safety concerns before they become larger issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment issues.
- Assist with swimming pool maintenance, including checking equipment, filters, water conditions, and chemicals.
- Diagnose equipment issues using manuals, diagrams, and available technical information.
- Maintain mechanical and maintenance areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Coordinate with hotel management, housekeeping, and outside contractors when required.
- Assist with renovation, installation, and other property improvement projects as needed.




- Follow all hotel health and safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications
- Previous hotel, building, facility, or general maintenance experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with repairs, preventative maintenance, painting, and basic construction.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems is an asset.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or similar vocational training is an asset but not required.
- Flexible availability as required by hotel operations.

Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, carrying, and performing physical work for extended periods. Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
