The Flowr Group (Okanagan) Inc. is an 80,000 sq.ft. cannabis cultivation facility based in Kelowna/Lake Country, British Columbia. The Flowr Group (Okanagan) Inc. is a subsidiary of Avant Brands K1, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Avant Brands (and GreenTec Holdings Ltd.).

The Flowr Group (Okanagan) Inc. is hiring for a Maintenance Technician - HVAC to join the Maintenance Department.

Position Summary The Maintenance Technician – HVAC is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing HVAC, refrigeration, and environmental control systems that support cannabis cultivation, drying, processing, packaging, and storage operations.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring environmental conditions remain within validated operating parameters while maintaining compliance with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations, Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), occupational health and safety requirements, and company procedures.

The successful candidate will support preventative maintenance programs, emergency repairs, facility improvements, and equipment qualification activities while minimizing downtime and ensuring product quality.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC & Refrigeration

- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems.
- Maintain refrigeration equipment including cooling units,



condensers, evaporators, compressors, chillers, and associated controls.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Monitor system performance and optimize efficiency.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
- Repair or replace motors, bearings, belts, valves, sensors, actuators, compressors, fans, and related components.
- Maintain proper refrigerant handling practices in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Respond to environmental alarms and after-hours emergency breakdowns when required.

Environmental Control Systems

- Maintain temperature, humidity, pressure differential, and airflow systems used in cultivation and GMP production areas.
- Support Building Management Systems (BMS) including monitoring and troubleshooting environmental trends.
- Verify environmental conditions remain within approved operating ranges.
- Assist with room balancing and airflow investigations.
- Support HEPA filtration systems and air handling units.
- Assist with filter replacement programs including MERV and HEPA filters.

Preventative Maintenance

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Complete work orders accurately and on time.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

Required

- Journeyperson Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic or equivalent trade certification.




- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
- Experience troubleshooting refrigeration systems.
- Robust electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Ability to climb ladders and safely access rooftops and elevated work areas.
- Capable of working in confined, restricted, or limited-access spaces, including mechanical and utility areas.
- Physically able to bend, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach, and work in various positions as required.
- Comfortable safely navigating narrow access points and areas with limited clearance.
- Capable of safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Preferred

- Experience within cannabis, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, biotechnology, or GMP-regulated facilities.
- Knowledge of Health Canada Cannabis Regulations.
- Experience with environmental control systems used in cultivation facilities.
- Experience with CMMS software (e.g., FIIX).
- Experience with PLC controls and automation.
- Experience with refrigeration controls and VFDs.
- Experience with cleanroom or controlled-environment facilities.
