Position Summary
As the Manager, you will be supporting aspects of daily operations while establishing Playa Bowls as a premier health-focused brand in the Canadian market. Supporting developing a high-performing team while delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong financial performance.
You’ll play a key role in setting the culture and ensuring operational excellence from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Foster a positive, energetic, and accountable team culture
- Lead by example in hospitality and work ethic
Operations & Performance
- Support daily store operations
- Support opening and closing the shop
- Ensure compliance with Canadian food safety regulations
- Maintain brand standards and store presentation
- Check products to ensure consistency, palatability, and quality
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, and accommodations
- Receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
- Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to make sure it’s up to Company Standards
- Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety
- Perform food preparation or service tasks
- Support worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff, and evaluate employee performances
- Utilize POS system, operate cash register.
- Adhere to company opening and closing procedures and maintain accompanying records
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
- Experience opening a new store or launching a new concept (preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for health, wellness, and community engagement
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Requirements
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Food Handler Certification (Ontario)
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.
