As part of our manufacturing team, the Manufacturing Floater’s role is to help in various areas, including shipping, electro-mechanical assembly and testing.
Duties include: packaging products, assembly of components together into an embedded system or enclosed product and testing by performing live tests on electronic assemblies.

Retrieving and handling packaging supplies
Package products for shipping while adhering to standard instructions
May be required to lift, carry and move packages of various sizes and weights
Monitor daily shipping deadlines and manage workflow accordingly
Administer order shipments in software program
Complete shipping documentation neatly and accurately
Follow detailed written instructions
May perform assembly or modification tasks on electronic components, including assemblies, dis-assemblies, modifications, reworks and repairs.
May perform testing sequences on assembled products using detailed work instructions
Follow written work instructions and engineering change notices to complete required tasks Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in electro-mechanical disciplines or computer systems is preferred
Experience within an electronics manufacturing setting
2-4 years related experience in electro mechanical assembly would be an asset
Experience in packaging and shipping an asset
Training and experience in ESD procedures
Experience with system assembly (Embedded, PC, etc.)
Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Strong English language comprehension is a must
Able to follow direction and have good interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work in a rapid-paced dynamic environment
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Strong awareness of safety protocols and guideline with the ability to recognize potential hazards
Good mobility for tasks that involve walking, standing, bending, lifting and stooping
Familiarity with shipping software and systems an asset
Good manual dexterity demonstrating fine motor skills for working with small components (hand-eye coordination) Additional Assets Understanding of embedded hardware systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Ability to use hand tools (common, pin crimpers, wire strippers, torque drivers, etc.)
Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, thermal solutions and labels
Soldering, diagnosis, testing and inspection of printed circuit boards is an asset
