Specializing in marine work, we do everything from full enclosures to boat covers to settees. We have also recently expanded into commercial and residential upholstery.

Canvas & Upholstery, we take pride in enhancing our clients’ spaces with our craftsmanship and dedication. We share an office with our sister company, Sea Power Marine Centre, who service boats of all sizes.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Shop Supervisor to lead our skilled team. The ideal candidate will have a background in canvas or upholstery, with a focus on marine, automotive, residential, or commercial applications. In this role, you will be leading a team of five fabricators who create everything from custom residential chairs to complete boat enclosures.

While hands-on knowledge is essential, this is primarily an administrative position, so strong computer skills and excellent customer service are key to success.

- Logistical Planning: Organize and track ongoing projects for each fabricator and plan ahead for upcoming jobs to ensure smooth workflow.
- Client Communication: Respond to phone and email inquiries from both new and existing clients, providing excellent customer service and clear updates on project progress.
- Ordering Materials: Source and order fabrics and materials for upcoming projects, track supply needs, and enter invoices to ensure accurate billing.
- Administrative Tasks: Run biweekly payroll and handle general office tasks to keep the shop running efficiently.
- Experience in the fabric industry, marine canvas, commercial, residential, or auto upholstery is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and on a team.
- Good communication both within the team and with clients.
