Position Responsibilities The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a Part-Time Instructor to teach MATH 1260: Higher Arithmetic in Fall 2026. This course is designed for students in the Elementary Education program.
Responsibilities of Part-Time Faculty at the School of Trades and Technology include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes
- Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles
- Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
- Inspiring students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material
- Working collegially within department, School, or Institution committees and project teams
Red Deer Polytechnic’s School of Trades and Technology is a multidisciplinary school committed to innovation, applied learning, and student success across a broad spectrum of programs. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Mathematics
Note that alternate combinations of related education, certification, and work experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience related to teaching math in the K to 12 system
- Master’s Degree in Math or Education

Part-time instructors receive an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
