Position Summary The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment and production systems to ensure protected, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and promotes continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with company quality and safety standards.

- Q2 ALS welcomes applications from registered Millwright Apprentices who have successfully completed their first year and are currently in their 2nd year or higher of apprenticeship.

Basic Employee Responsibilities Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

- Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
- Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment.
- Being responsible – on time for work and take breaks during designated times.
- Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.





Position Specific Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul manufacturing equipment, machinery, and production systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor system failures and perform repairs as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Assemble, align, level, and install industrial machinery and equipment according to manufacturer and engineering specifications.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify wear, defects, or potential failures.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve operational performance.
- Assist with facility upgrades, equipment modifications, machine installations, and capital projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders within the maintenance management system.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, efficiency, and workplace safety.




- Participate in emergency maintenance response and after-hours support as required.
- Report and document any nonconforming product as per NCR policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) or equivalent recognized trade certification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and power transmission equipment.
- Experience with precision alignment, rigging, welding, and fabrication considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving machinery.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection when required.
