Job purpose To maintain flow of work in the shop by keeping Fitters/Welders stocked with Material.
Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for:
- Sorting parts for fabricators
- Moving steel in/out/around the shop
- Unloading/Loading trailers
- Provide accuracy and checking of steel
- General yard cleanup and organization
- Checking inventory
Skills and Qualifications · Overhead Crane
· Forklift
· First Aid (is an asset)
· Physically fit and be able to lift and load manually various items
· Ability to work well under pressure in an extremely fast paced workplace
· Strong multi tasker with keen attention to detail
Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
