NOTICE OF NON-UNION VACANCY

POSITION: Operations Quality Lead

LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre

SALARY: $85,535 to $90,037 annual

Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the incumbent will assist in supervising the activities of custodial and painting staff to ensure safe, productive and continuous services to the Board. Please note that this position primarily involves afternoon shifts.

Duties and responsibilities include:

· Co-ordinate, schedule, provide direction and supervise custodial and painting staff;

· Assist in the supervision of maintenance and utility staff as required;

· Meet with custodial staff to discuss procedures, cleaning expectations, training, problem solve,

and maintain effective working relationships;

· Maintain day-to-day operations including the preparation of various reports, work orders, supply orders, etc.;

· Work with various contractors for day-to-day operational needs, emergency repairs, etc. Follow up to ensure work is completed in a timely and satisfactory manner;

· Complete regular building, grounds and property inspections;

· Monitor and investigate water alert systems as required;

· Investigate accidents and injuries and ensure appropriate documentation is completed;

· Conduct performance evaluations of staff, as required;

· Monitor work performance including disciplinary action when required;

· Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed and followed;

· Train staff as required;

· Work day and afternoon shifts as directed;

· After hours on-call rotation with other Facilities Services management staff;





· Provide coverage for Supervisor as required;

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary diploma in building and maintenance, business management or a related field, or an equivalent amount of education and experience

· Previous supervisory experience would be an asset;

· Experience working in a unionized workforce;

· Excellent organizational, planning, writing and communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent analytical skills;

· Ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position with minimum direction and supervision is required;

· Computer skills required;

· Demonstrated proficiency in operating custodial equipment and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs;

· A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for use in carrying out the duties of the position.
