Scentroid is seeking an Operations Manager who will be accountable for all activity between order confirmation to customer acceptance. Four functions report to the position: production, quality and calibration, customer support, and procurement.

The Mandate:

- Deliver committed orders on time, at target margin, and at the required quality standard.
- Operate functions as a single system with common targets, one operating cadence, and defined accountability.
- Set and commit all customer delivery dates, and maintain published lead times by product line.
- Manage supervisors, including target setting, performance review, and capability development.
- Maintain ISO 9001 certification and product conformity to applicable standards without exception.
- Convert field failures and warranty claims into corrective action, with root causes routed to engineering.
- Hold supplier performance, component availability, and inventory policy to plan.
- Report operational and financial performance to the President monthly, with variance explained and remedies proposed.

Decision authority for delivery dates, production priority, supplier selection, and inventory policy rests with this role.

Responsibilities

Production and Supply Chain:

- Own the production schedule against the order book and forecast.
- Manage the Production Manager and assembly team on throughput, build quality, and capacity planning.
- Direct procurement on supplier performance, lead times,



cost reduction, and shortage escalation.
- Own inventory: stocking policy for critical components, accuracy, and turns.
- Keep BOMs, work instructions, routings, and test records current in the ERP.

Quality and Calibration:

- Manage the QC and Calibration function, which sits independently of production by design.
- Maintain ISO 9001 processes, internal audits, and corrective actions.
- Own conformity of products and methods to applicable standards, including EN 13725, ASTM E679, relevant US EPA methods, and applicable CE and IEC requirements.
- Maintain the calibration program for both production test equipment and customer instruments.

Customer Support and Service:

- Manage the Customer Support Manager on queue performance, escalation, and closure.
- Own installation and commissioning scheduling, direct and through distributors.
- Own the RMA and warranty process, including root cause analysis and the feedback loop into R&D.;
- Report support performance monthly: first response, resolution time, repeat failure rate.

Delivery Commitment:

- Set and commit all customer delivery dates. Sales may request and escalate, but the date comes from Operations.
- Maintain visible lead times by product line, and update them as capacity changes.
- Own the shipping and export function, including dangerous goods documentation for lithium batteries and compressed gas standards

Management

- Run regular operating meetings across departments and a monthly review with the President.
- Set targets and performance expectations
- Identify capacity and capability gaps, and make the case for hires when the numbers support it.

Qualifications

Required

- 8+ years in operations or manufacturing leadership,



including senior management.
- Experience running a low-volume, high-mix hardware operation. Our builds are configured per order and not mass produced.
- Instrumentation, electronics, analytical equipment, or comparable engineered hardware background. Applicant needs to be able to sit in a design review, read a schematic and a test procedure.
- ISO 9001 ownership, including audits and corrective action.
- Procurement and supplier management, including international suppliers and long lead time components.
- ERP fluency across production planning, purchasing, and inventory.
- Direct customer contact experience on delivery, quality, and escalation matters.
- Degree or diploma in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field.
- Operational excellency: Six Sigma protocols, problem solving methods
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Assets

- Air quality, gas detection, environmental monitoring, or analytical instrument experience.
- Odoo ERP knowledge.
- ISO 17025 or calibration laboratory experience.
- TDG and IATA dangerous goods certification.
- Lean or continuous improvement training with results you can point to.
- Export documentation and international freight.
- Second language relevant to our export markets.

Compensation and perks: Annual incentive: Capped at 10 percent of meeting performance targets

Note: Travel may be required, including occasional international customer sites, trade shows, and supplier visits should they be necessary.

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
