Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of medical office experience and customer service skills, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities

- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes at the front desk.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information.
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing basic vision tests.
- Provide support during eye examinations and assist the optometrist as needed.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office and examination rooms.
- Handle retail sales of eyewear products, including frames and lenses, while providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and optimal patient care experience.





Qualifications

- Previous medical office experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Optical experience or knowledge of eyewear products is desirable but not mandatory.
- Retail sales experience is beneficial, particularly in a healthcare or optical environment.
