SUMMARY OF THE POSITION The Caregiver Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of caregiver support services, including support groups, educational workshops, drop-in opportunities, and recreational programming. The role will provide one-on-one support and resource navigation, helping caregivers build skills, access community services, and strengthen their own wellbeing while supporting a loved one living with mental health challenges. Working collaboratively with volunteers, community partners, and internal teams, the Coordinator will foster an inclusive, welcoming workplace, promote program participation, and support ongoing program evaluation and improvement.
Rate: $31.31-$37.05 per hour
HOURS OF WORK
This position works approximately 15 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or degree in Health Sciences/Social Services Program is considered an asset.
- Lived experience as a caregiver or supporting someone with mental health challenges is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working in community mental health, family support, peer support, or community programming.
- Knowledge of the mental health system and community resources within Waterloo Region is considered an asset.
- Experience facilitating groups and educational workshops.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams and volunteers.
- Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the individuals supported.
