Provide remote and onsite technical support for our clients’ computers and network systems and their users. Involves ad-hoc Help Desk support and technical project work such as installs, upgrades, migrations. Most support services are required during regular business work hours with some work that can be done after-hours or weekends. Some jobs require quick response and some can be scheduled. This is part-time work as an Independent Contractor, ideal for a computer/network technician looking for additional work. This may also lead to full-time employment.

Responsibilities

- Provide Remote Help Desk Support for Users.
- Provide On-Site technical services as required.
- Support both Microsoft 365 systems and environments AND non-Microsoft 356 systems and environments (on-prem servers, active director and Exchange on-prem).
- Setup/Manage user accounts.
- Setup/Manage email accounts (M365, Exchange on-prem, basic email)
- Install/setup email on user’s phones and mobile devices.
- Install/setup/upgrade standard business applications.
- Install/setup computers, laptops, printers/scanners.
- Install/setup routers, switches, WiFi and other networking systems.
- Install/setup VPN’s and remote connections.
- Assist with upgrades, migrations, deployments and technical projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a methodical and timely manner
- Communicate professionally with clients, users, vendors, other technicians, and our internal team.
- Clearly document all work, time, troubleshooting and resolutions for each assigned service tickets.
- Provide client documentation on system and login changes.
- Provide excellent client service and keep users and clients happy.

Qualifications

- Must have 8+ years of professional work experience supporting computers, network systems, and users, which includes installations, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and help desk support.
- Previous MSP, IT service provider or multi-client support experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in providing both remote support and onsite field service.




- Experience with both Microsoft 365 systems and environments AND non-Microsoft 356 systems and environments (on-prem servers, active director and Exchange on-prem).
- Experience with operating systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Linux, MacOS
- Experience with Apple and Android systems.
- Experience with standard office applications like Microsoft Office, M365, Outlook/Exchange email, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe and others.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP and file permissions.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, wireless networks and VPNs.
- Experience with VMWare, Hyper-V and virtualization platforms and virtual machines.
- Experience with monitoring and maintenance tools (RMM).
- Experience with backups, endpoint protection and basic cybersecurity response.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing technical issues.
- Must have good clear English communication, both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, and presenting yourself as a professional.
- Must be dependable, trustworthy and able to work independently.
- Must be able to recognize when an issue should be escalated.
- Must live within the Greater Vancouver area.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Must be legally entitled to provide contract services in Canada.

Certifications Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, ITIL, Kaseya, Datto or CyberSecurity certifications are beneficial, but practical experience and troubleshooting ability are more important.

- This is a Part-time Independent Contractor opportunity.

- There is no guarantee of minimum number of hours.

- Approved mileage will be reimbursed according to standard rates.
- Contractor Rate will be based on experience, qualifications and/or assigned work.
