Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Physiotherapist to join our mobile healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in helping infants, children, and adolescents recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses, as well as managing congenital, developmental, or neurological conditions. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients and their families through expert, age-appropriate care and support.
The Pediatric
Physiotherapist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall child development and well-being in both home and clinical settings.
Duties
- Assess pediatric patients’ physical conditions through detailed developmental evaluations, play-based assessments, and medical history reviews.
- Develop individualized, play-based treatment plans tailored to each child's specific developmental needs and recovery goals.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and movement-based interventions designed to improve mobility, strength, and gross motor skills.
- Monitor child progress and adjust treatment strategies continuously to match the child's growth and changing developmental milestones.
- Educate and coach families and caregivers on home exercise programs, positioning techniques, and therapeutic play activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of pediatric treatments, developmental progress notes, and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest pediatric physiotherapy techniques and pediatric best practices through ongoing career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physiotherapist.
- Proven experience working in pediatrics, pediatric acute care, or childhood developmental clinics.
- Prior hospital experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric medical terminology, childhood development milestones, and congenital conditions.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate, patient, and fun approach that engages children.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare and family-centred team.
- Strong communication skills for educating parents and coordinating care plans across different environments.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual Pay: From $98.00 per hour
