Role Description The Physical Therapist Assistant is a full-time, in office role based in Ottawa, ON, supporting physiotherapists in delivering quality, individualized patient care. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with treatment sessions, guiding patients through prescribed exercises, and helping implement rehabilitation plans under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist. The role involves preparing treatment areas and equipment, monitoring patient progress, documenting clinical activities, and reinforcing home exercise programs and education.

Assistant will collaborate with the clinical team to promote a safe, respectful environment and support efficient clinic operations, including scheduling assistance and basic administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation to support treatment plans and therapeutic exercises under supervision.

Strong focus on Patient Care and Quality Patient Care, with the ability to deliver compassionate, client-centered support.

Knowledge of Orthopedics, including common musculoskeletal conditions and post-surgical rehabilitation principles.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse patients and a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to follow clinical protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold privacy and safety standards.

Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and handle the demands of a busy clinical environment.

Previous experience in an outpatient physiotherapy or rehabilitation setting is an asset.
