Pipe Layer – Civil Construction (Full-Time)

About Us

Sierra Excavating Enterprises Inc. is a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in municipal , ICI infrastructure projects, including watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, culverts, stormwater management facilities, and site servicing. We are looking for a dependable and experienced Pipe Layer to join our growing team.

Position Summary The Pipe Layer will be responsible for the safe and accurate installation of underground watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, catch basins, maintenance holes, and related civil infrastructure in accordance with project specifications and municipal standards.

Responsibilities

· Install watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related underground services.

· Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and specifications.

· Set pipe to proper line and grade using lasers and surveying equipment.

· Assist with trench preparation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction.

· Work safely around heavy equipment and maintain a clean work area.

· Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications.





· Follow company safety policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction.

· Experience installing municipal underground infrastructure is required.

· Ability to read construction drawings and work from grade stakes.

· Strong understanding of secure trenching and excavation practices.

· Fluent in spoken and written English.

· Valid Ontario driver's licence.

· Must have reliable transportation (own vehicle) to travel to project sites.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
