Overview:

Foxglove Nursery is a wholesale nursery located in idyllic southeast Kelowna. We specialize in growing caliper trees, hardy shrubs, perennials, grasses and evergreens for the local landscape and garden center industry.

The Plant Order Puller is responsible for selecting and preparing plants for customer orders in a greenhouse or nursery environment. This role involves accurately identifying plant species, ensuring plant health and quality, and organizing them for shipment or pickup. The Plant Order Puller works closely with other nurserystaff to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Order Fulfillment: Accurately read and interpret customer orders, selecting the appropriate plants as specified.
- Plant Identification: Identify various plant species and varieties to ensure correct order fulfillment.
- Quality Control: Inspect plants for signs of disease, pests, and overall health, ensuring only high-quality plants are pulled.
- Preparation for Shipment: Properly load plants to prevent damage during transportation.
- Inventory Management: Update inventory records as plants are pulled and report any discrepancies or low stock levels.
- Maintenance: Assist in the general maintenance of the greenhouse or nursery, including watering, pruning, and weeding.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to fulfill orders and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers to answer questions and assist with order pickups.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Plants: Basic understanding of plant species, their care requirements, and common pests and diseases.
- Attention to Detail:



Ability to accurately follow order instructions and ensure the correct plants are selected and prepared.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods in an outdoor environment .
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience: Previous experience working in a greenhouse, nursery, or similar environment.
- Horticultural Knowledge: Formal education or training in horticulture or a related field.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role.

Working Conditions:

- Environment: Work is primarily performed in a greenhouse or outdoor nursery setting, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential for weekend and holiday shifts.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to work in varying weather conditions.
- Dexterity to handle delicate plants without causing damage.

Compensation:

- Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
