Who you are
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Program Manager, or consultant with enterprise software, preferably in FP&A;, CPM, EPM, or related planning and analytics domains
- Deep domain knowledge in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning—ideally with hands-on experience as a user, implementation consultant, or PM of planning software
- Demonstrated experience incorporating or working alongside AI/ML capabilities in a product context, including familiarity with LLMs, predictive modeling, or AI-assisted workflows
- Actively uses AI tools (e.g., generative AI, co-pilots, automated analysis) to improve personal productivity and bring innovative ideas to product development
- Strong understanding of driver-based and continuous planning methodologies, rolling forecasts, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and workforce/headcount planning
- Experience defining user interface concepts for complex business applications, including wireframes, mockups, and final UX decision-making
- Understanding of EPM concepts including financial analytics and visualization, data integration, multi-dimensional modeling, and financial reporting
- Proven ability to define and communicate product requirements to a broad audience—engineers, QA, marketing, senior management, customers, and analysts—through both verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with modern product management tools: Atlassian Jira, Claude, Google Docs, Figma, Pendo or similar
- Experience with SaaS development models, cloud computing, and Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or related field. Graduate degree is a plus
- Independent thinker and self-starter who operates with urgency and can research, synthesize,
and present findings with minimal direction
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to large audiences in person or over video, and ability to craft clear requirements and specification documents
- Experience working with or presenting to U.S. based customers and stakeholders
- Experience in a lead role mentoring or managing team members is a plus

- Planful is seeking a full-time Product Manager, Planning to join our world-class product team
- Reporting to the SVP of Product, this individual will own the roadmap and execution for Planful’s dynamic planning capabilities—driving continuous, connected, and AI-powered planning experiences for finance and operations teams across the enterprise
- The right candidate combines deep domain knowledge in financial and operational planning with a passion for building intelligent, modern software
- You will be responsible for gathering requirements, translating them into actionable stories, and delivering high-quality products to the enterprise performance management market

- Define and own the product roadmap for Planful’s agile planning capabilities and set engineering priorities accordingly
- Write and share clear functional specifications, user stories,
and acceptance criteria with development, QA, and UX teams
- Design and champion intuitive new planning functionality in close partnership with engineering and UX teams, ensuring an exceptional user experience for finance and operations users
- Evangelize product vision, planning strategy, and AI capabilities to customers, partners, prospects, and internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success
- Integrate AI capabilities into the planning product—including predictive analytics, intelligent scenario modeling, anomaly detection, and natural language interfaces—to deliver an AI-forward user experience
- Leverage AI tools and techniques personally to accelerate research, synthesis, prototyping, and requirements development workflows
- Analyze the competitive landscape for planning and FP&A; solutions and define differentiated requirements that advance Planful’s market position
- Evaluate product performance and feature utility with internal stakeholders (support, services, sales) and external stakeholders (customers, partners, analysts)
- Lead research and discovery in areas of innovation, including AI-driven planning automation, rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and workforce/operational planning
- Define and refine the data model and calculation layer requirements to support versatile, multi-dimensional planning across finance and operations
- Partner with the broader product team to ensure coherent integration between planning, reporting, consolidation, and analytics capabilities within the Planful platform
