We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Assembler for a 4 month contract position.
Job Summary:
The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling products and components on a production line and test manufactured products, while adhering to productivity standards, Quality standards and Health & Safety Regulations. This role follows standardized work instructions, performs visual quality inspections and supports continuous improvement initiatives to ensure productive manufacturing operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Assemble products and components according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures.
Operate hand tools, power tools (pneumatic/electric tools) Jigs and fixtures, to perform manual assembly and production equipment safely and effectively.
Follow manufacturing instructions to perform sub-assembly, assembly, testing and packaging
Perform visual and functional quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards to the supervisor.
Maintain production weekly and daily targets while ensuring product quality and accuracy.
Record production data and complete required documentation accurately.
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and Uniforms as required
Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
Assist with material handling, replenishment, and inventory accuracy as required.
Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, maintenance, and quality personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is an asset but not required.
Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
Ability to operate hand tools (electric drills, screwdrivers and pneumatic tools in general
Must be adaptable to rotate through different stations to ensure continued skill expansion in all stations
Basic computer literacy able to navigate Microsoft applications and SAP
Good communication skills both verbally and written
Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Condition & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of up to 7 hours/day.
Must be able to physically operate lifting devices, operate a pump truck
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs (11 kg); occasionally up to 50 lbs (23 kg) with lifting device assistance where required.
Manual dexterity required for repetitive assembly line setup tasks.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
Overtime and weekend work may be occasionally requested based on production needs.
