The Algoma Fall Festival is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Production & Communications Assistant to support the Festival during the upcoming season.
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, this position provides administrative, communications, and logistical support to help ensure the successful delivery of festival programming and events. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in communications, events, or arts administration who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative arts environment.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing Support
Schedule and publish social media content across festival platforms
Draft and format email newsletters, announcements, and audience communications
Maintain and organize audience mailing lists
Assist with website updates and event listings
Support the preparation and organization of promotional materials
Production & Event Support
Assist with organizing festival schedules, event materials, and production documents
Prepare signage, programs, and other event-related materials
Provide on-site support during performances and festival events
Assist the Executive Director and festival team with logistical coordination as needed
Administrative Support
Provide general administrative support to the Executive Director
Organize files, records, and shared documents
Assist with meeting coordination and note-taking
Help track expenses and maintain organizational records
Volunteer Support
Prepare volunteer materials and information packages
Support the Front of House Manager during festival events
Help ensure volunteers have the materials and information they require onsite
Qualifications
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in administration, communications, events, or arts/culture
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with social media platforms and email marketing tools
Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently, follow direction, and manage multiple tasks
Interest in arts and culture is considered an asset
Position Details
Part time contract position
Flexible schedule with evening and weekend work required during the festival
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle required
Contract term: August 31 – November 15
Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on background and experience To Apply
